David Giro and Steve Wood - El Misterio del Nilo (LINK)
January 24th 2008 04:03
Translated in English to be 'The Mystery of the Nile', it is the movie soundtrack for the motion picture with the said title. Indeed it captures the essence of the indigenous ancient music of the people within the area who are of a Middle Eastern-African heritage including Egyptians, Ethiopians, Eritreans and Somalians and can be classed within the World Music genre. David Giro and Steve Wood were not shy by any means in combining the talents of many musicians and singers to make this project a huge success, hence its effectiveness in the motion picture. Strong emotions may be aroused by these soulful tracks that may lend wings to the mind to experience life amongst the natives whether it is dancing, singing, weeping and even senses of adventure. The letdown that may be said for this album is that the tracks may be a tad too short (20 tracks in 41 minutes), yet it can be understood that tracks were tailored in length for film scenes.
