'Our Hell' is a good life... (LINK)

The philosophical journey of Emily Haines is put into the visual with the excellent help of director Jaron Albertin for her song 'Our Hell'. Underlying questions related the reality of our social and emotional state are asked. Emily appears in a world that is really just like everyday life - spending time with friends on a beach; the application of sunblock; romping etc., however there is something that is very ironic, and that is the perception of life from the 'negative' of the film roll. It looks exactly as this, with the reversed black and white cinematography which conveys Emily's feelings of gloom, sadness and even honesty. Watch for the metaphors, and the irony of a personality who was invented for happiness. The video can be a bit creepy to some, and even downright scary but the ingenuity and beauty is evident.
