Rob Zombie's Halloween
February 2nd 2008 08:37
I just got though watching Rob Zombie's version of the classic horror film, "Halloween". It was fantastic! It was better than the original! It gives an in-depth look at the story of Micheal Myers. Whereas the original told the story of pure evil going on a killing spree, Rob Zombie's version goes deeper. His story is not as simple as that. Micheal Myers story, instead, gets told from a very human perspective. You get to see Micheal as a boy. You get to see his family, not just the scene of him walking up the stairs to kill his sister like in the original, but breakfast with the family. You understand Micheal and you follow his story almost like a documentary at times. He is a very complex person, like the rest of us, not just plainly evil. Rob Zombie did an Excellent job of showing us just how complex and human Micheal Myers really is. I even cried for Micheal. I won't tell you when, but I did. This was a very smart piece, indeed.
